Rosary Group
Parishioners and visitors stay to pray the Rosary after the 8:00 am Mass from Tuesday to Fridays. There are also two dedicated Rosary groups that pray the Rosary at 10:00 am on Mondays, and for the seven sorrows of our Lady at 9:30 am on Thursdays. Everyone is welcome to join the groups.
Craft Group
Group activities will commence on Tuesday, 14th of February 2023.
The group meets Tuesday Mornings at 9:00am in the Parish Hall. It was started by ladies of our Parish who just wanted to chat and craft. While we do not currently run workshops there are ladies who are able and willing to help those who would like to learn a new craft or become more proficient at a craft they are already doing. There is no pressure to actually do some craft, if you need to just sit and chat, that is fine. Some of the ladies have sought out avenues for using the crafts they can do, hence some have been involved in making craft items for Hospitals and Charity groups, as well as for fundraising events for our Parish. The group is totally for its members and does not operate during school holidays. There is no expectation of how often a person attends, while some attend nearly every week others come occasionally. New members are welcome.
First Friday Night Vigil Group
Every first Friday of the month we do the reparation for souls which consists of Masses and prayers beginning at 7:00pm with the Mass devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and concluding with the Mass to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at 12:30am. During this time is offered confession, the rosary, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Children's Liturgy
Children’s Liturgy is offered the 1st and 4th Sunday 9:30am Mass. Children are taken from the beginning of the Mass with experienced catechists to deepen their understanding of the Word of God. At the Offertory, the children return to the full assembly of the Mass for the remainder of Mass. Children are involved in altar serving, prayers of the faithful, welcoming before Mass and other services of the liturgy. New families are very welcome to participate with their children.
Exploring our Faith Group
Our group meets once a month in the St Matthew's Parish hall to explore our Catholic faith in a relaxed and friendly environment. We watch videos followed by a brief discussion on a range of topics. This includes the Eucharist, the saints, the Bible, the sacraments, and prayer, to nurture and learn more about the Catholic faith. During Advent and Lent, we have weekly sessions.
Join us on the first Sunday of the month after 9:30am Mass. All are welcome.

Saint Vincent de Paul
At the heart of what we do is “the sharing of ourselves, person to person, and the sharing of what we have….food, clothes, furniture, financial support and advice etc.” Our aim is to give people ‘a hand up not a hand out’ to help get them back on their feet, so they can decide on the direction of their lives.
We do this by going out in pairs and visiting people in their homes. In meeting people face to face in their homes, we have the opportunity to see their circumstances first hand and thereby gain more immediate understanding or their particular situation.
Our aim is to give people a hand up to stand on their own feet, and to take control of their own destiny.

Neocatechumenal Way
The nature of the Neo-catechumenal Way is defined by His Holiness John Paul II when he writes: “I recognise the Neo-catechumenal Way as an itinerary of Catholic formation, valid for our society and for our times”. It is at the service of the bishops as one of the forms of diocesan implementation of Christian initiation and of ongoing education in faith. It is a post-baptismal catechumenate for the rediscovery of Christian Initiation by baptized adults.
Talks of the Neo-Catechumenal way are held every year.
